Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake

A warm, cheesy dish combining rich flavors with the freshness of sushi ingredients, featuring savory salmon nestled in seasoned rice and topped with crispy panko breadcrumbs.

  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 1 can (14 oz) salmon, drained
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If not already done, cook the sushi rice according to package instructions until slightly sticky.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained salmon, mayo, Sriracha, soy sauce, and chopped green onion. Mix until well blended and creamy.
  4. Spread the cooked sushi rice evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Pour the salmon mixture over the rice and spread it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the panko breadcrumbs over the salmon layer.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired and serve.

Notes

For added variations, consider mixing diced peppers into the salmon or using fresh salmon instead of canned.
