Lemon Brownies

Delightfully zesty Lemon Brownies with a buttery base and tangy lemon flavor, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth, about 30-60 seconds. Allow it to cool slightly before adding the sugar.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until creamy and shiny.
  4. Beat in the eggs, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice until fully combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the baking dish before optionally sprinkling powdered sugar over the top and slicing into squares.

Notes

Use fresh lemons for the best flavor. Ensure not to overmix the batter.
